Fomo

FOMO, fear of missing out. The Urban Dictionary, says that fomo is the fear that if you miss a party or event you will miss out on something great.
It is more than that, is a state of mind, an emotional strain, causing anxiety, social anxiety, often caused by posts seen on social media.

Somehow we've ended up in this cult of worshipping "being busy", without paying due respect to what propels us to behave in this way. We often forget to enjoy the journey, because our minds are to focus on the end result. This inane part of ourselves that always want to push through and make things happen.

We should never confuse peace with boredom, and often our addiction to stress and drama lead us to think that we are not enough, that we are not doing enough, pushing us to always want to be busy.

It is, of course, a cultural issue and it runs deep in our collective consciousness. The association of Time and Money, more hours you put in, more money you make, more recognition you get.-Time is money-
Competition is also associated with this mind-set, there are little cooperation, friends, and relatives rather withheld useful information, fearing to add to someone else's gain.
The way we measure success nowadays is by comparison, "Comparison is the thief of joy" - Theodore Roosevelt
I'll say, let's be more cooperative and less competitive, let's be less pushy and more patient, let things unfold naturally, what is rightfully yours will come to you.
Get out of your head and into your heart. Think less, feel more.
